Taking health for granted (not sexy!)
Nothing brings it home quite like a lived experience.
I talk a lot about health as a fundamental pillar. The foundation that allows us to lead consciously, enjoy what we do and pursue whatever it is we aspire to do with our lives. Whatever success happens to mean to us.

Recently, my daughter had an accident that has put her out of full action for a few months. Just a physical injury, in the scheme of things. But in the first few weeks, she needed help with basic daily tasks most of us complete on autopilot.
She had to miss uni, meeting friends, her beloved sport. And have her mother live with her 24/7 😉
It got me thinking about how easily we take the basics for granted.
We assume life will keep going as it does, while wishing things would change.
All the while, assuming our health will just keep up.
We become so focused on making life better that we forget to enjoy the life we already have.
The ability to breathe freely. Get dressed without help. Cook a meal, go for a walk, meet a friend. Enjoy a sport we love.
The wonderfully ordinary things that make up a life.
Until, suddenly, we can't.
Perhaps we don't have to wait for something to go wrong to appreciate what we have. To pause long enough to notice the life we're living, rather than constantly working towards the life we think we should be living.
Are we so busy trying to make our lives better that we forget to enjoy the life we already have?
